About the Walk

Go Slow & Silent

Time spent in nature is essential to our psychological wellbeing. And yet today we spend much of our lives indoors, peering into screens. On this walk we invite you to put your digital devices away, connect to your breath, and slow down.

Surrounded by trees and vitalising green space, you will learn simple yet effective mindfulness techniques to calm and refresh your mind.

By firing up your imagination and opening up to the wonder of everyday things, you will be encouraged to find awe in your natural environment and experience the benefits of this potent — and surprisingly accessible — emotion.

Conducted in silence (aside from instructions), the walk ends in a relaxation exercise, after which you will have the opportunity to chat, ask questions, and enjoy a hot beverage.

More Information

01How long is the walk?

The walk lasts 75 minutes, including time for tea and questions at the end. Please try to arrive at the meeting point five minutes early.

02Where do we meet?

The meeting point varies from park to park. There are detailed meet-up instructions on the booking page of each walk. If you need further help, please drop us an email at hello@wearelifted.org

03What should I bring?

Please dress appropriately for the weather.

04Who is it for?

Anyone, everyone, providing you can manage a light stroll (or are otherwise able to get around the park). We go slow and silent, and there are some stops along the way. Check locations to find out if there is step free access, or get in touch to discuss any mobility issues at hello@wearelifted.org. We are committed to making the event as broadly accessible as possible.

05What if it rains?

The walk takes place rain or shine, in all but the heaviest weather. We usually meet in a sheltered area, so if it is raining hard, we will drink some tea, chat, and wait a while for it to pass. If you are dressed appropriately, walking in the rain offers its own pleasures. The parks are quiet and you have the sound of raindrops, and different textures and colours to take in and appreciate.
